In September 2026, tourist accommodation establishments recorded 3.4 million guests (+2.5%) and 8.7 million overnight stays (+2.0%). Among the main source markets, the U.S. (+5.7%), Spain (+5.4%), and the United Kingdom (+3.0%) stood out with the highest year-over-year monthly growth in the number of Overnight Stays. By NUTS II region, the Norte (+6.6%), the Centro, and Grande Lisboa (both +2.8%) were the regions that saw the largest increases in this indicator.

From January through September 2026, Portugal welcomed 25.8 million guests who generated 66.0 million overnight stays, primarily from the United Kingdom (share: 18.0%), Germany (11.1%), and the U.S. (9.8%).
