The "Green Tour" and other public tenders for tourism in Italy

First of all, the national competition "Green Tour", managed by Invitalia, which receives applications until September 15; this initiative, promoted by the Ministry of Tourism (Mitur), provides € 109 million in funding to be distributed throughout the national territory.

The competition is open to Italian and foreign companies (based in Italy) of all sizes that operate in the tourism sector or — if active for at least three years — prove that more than 50% of their turnover comes from tourism-related activities..."

What the Green Tour finances:

The Green Tour finances investment programs from €1 million to €15 million, which are mainly aimed at improving the energy efficiency of tourist facilities and/or generating energy from renewable sources.

These interventions, classified as "primary" (or "major") interventions, must represent at least 51% of eligible expenditure. Any "secondary" (or "complementary") investments may include, among other aspects, the digitalisation of the tourism ecosystem and supply chains, compliance with ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) criteria, the installation of automation systems, the reduction of energy consumption and other ancillary measures. Under certain conditions, the hiring of consulting services may also be eligible for support.
