Royal Caribbean will operate for the first time an annual season in Europe (2028-29), with winter programs that pass through the Canary Islands and include Portugal. The ship Rhapsody of the Seas will make itineraries from November to March with calls that combine the Atlantic and Mediterranean routes, including stops in Portugal and Madeira.
In addition, the fleet's programming reinforces relevant calls to Lisbon and Porto (Leixões) on routes that connect several European cities. This decision tends to increase the demand for cruisers in the winter months and to diversify the temporal distribution of tourism in Portugal.
