Between January and July 2026, the country received 5,874,981 foreign tourists", of which 177,956 came from Portugal, a growth of 24.9%" compared to the same period in 2025. The growth recorded in the first seven months of the year comes after the number of Portuguese tourists in Brazil reached 273,483 in 2025, the highest figure since 2007 and an increase of more than 25% compared to 2024.
For 2026, the Brazilian Government expects to receive up to 300 thousand visitors from Portugal, which would represent a new all-time high. The strategy to promote the destination in the Portuguese market involves, among other areas, the use of Brazilian culture, namely music and audiovisual, as instruments of tourist attraction.
