The international luxury brand Nobu announces its entry into Lisbon, the group founded by Japanese chef Nobu Matsuhisa, actor Robert De Niro and producer Meir Teper will invest in the Algarve with a development at the Monte Rei resort, in Vila Nova de Cacela.

Nobu Hospitality plans to open Monte Rei, in the Algarve, in 2029, with 100 units (rooms, villas and residences) and start construction in 2027. The project is designed by DSA Architects and Rockwell Group, with a focus on integrating the hotel into the landscape of the Algarve and proximity to a Jack Nicklaus field.

For tourism in Portugal, the planned opening reinforces the trend of strengthening the upscale offer in the destination and may attract international demand for new accommodation and lifestyle experiences.
