Last-minute bookings gave a strong boost to the 2026 summer season, with new sales for travel between June and August growing 19% year-on-year, according to data from Travel Data + Analytics (TDA). Turkey became the most sought-after destination, followed by Spain, Greece and Egypt, while cruises also saw high demand. Despite the recovery, the pace of bookings for winter remains below that recorded in 2025, reflecting travelers' caution in the face of current geopolitical uncertainty. TDA also points out that booking at the last minute does not necessarily mean paying less, as last-minute travel prices increased by an average of 6% compared to the previous year.
