Germany is expected to maintain its position as the world's third largest business travel market in 2026, with estimated expenditures of around €78 billion, an increase of 6.7% compared to 2025, according to the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA).
Overall, spending is expected to grow by 7.2% to almost 1.5 trillion euros, although the number of trips will increase by only 1.3%, mainly reflecting the impact of rising prices. Globally, the US and China continue to lead the ranking, while Europe remains one of the regions with the highest volume of business travel, despite more moderate growth due to energy costs and geopolitical uncertainties.
