Flights to/from Spain were the ones that registered the highest increase in passengers at Portuguese airports among the five largest origins/destinations in the first half of the year. INE data show that passenger arrivals at Portuguese airports on flights originating in Spain increased by 7.2% compared to the first half of last year. There were 123.1 thousand more passengers than a year earlier.
On flights to Spain, 7.1% more passengers embarked in Portugal than in the first half of 2025,
so Spain continues to be, as in 2025, the 3rd largest origin and the 3rd largest destination for passengers disembarked and embarked at Portuguese airports in the first six months of the year. INE data show that around 1.825 million passengers from flights originating in Spain landed in Portugal in the first half of the year. On flights to Spain, 1.812 million passengers boarded.
