Embratur, through EmbraturLAB, and Porto Digital have entered into a partnership to boost the internationalization of Brazilian and Portuguese startups in the tourism sector. The initiative, called Luso-BR Connection, aims to expand the international presence of companies with already validated technological solutions, strengthen cooperation between the two countries and stimulate the digital transformation of tourism. The program has the support of Turismo de Portugal and Cais do Porto, a Portuguese innovation hub.
With a duration of five months, the program provides for the selection of ten startups, five Brazilian and five Portuguese, interested in expanding their operations to the partner market. The proposal is divided into two fronts: Brazilian companies wishing to enter Portugal and Portuguese companies seeking opportunities in Brazil. Participants will have access to training, specialized mentoring, networking and connections with potential customers, investors and business partners, as well as support to facilitate entry into the new market.
The initiative seeks to bring the innovation ecosystems of the two countries closer together, encouraging the development of solutions to challenges in the tourism sector, increasing the competitiveness of destinations and creating new business opportunities. The partnership also aims to reduce barriers to the internationalization of technology companies and establish a cooperation model that can be replicated in other strategic markets for tourism.
