Embratur and Abreu project a 48% growth in travel sales to Brazilian destinations

22 September 2026

Embratur and Grupo Abreu, one of Portugal's leading travel agency networks, project a 48% growth in travel sales to Brazilian destinations in 2026, compared to 2025. The joint campaign combines promotion and marketing actions in stores, digital channels and major events in the sector, with emphasis on destinations such as Rio de Janeiro, Bahia and Paraná. The strategy takes place in a scenario of increased flow of Portuguese to Brazil: between January and August 2026, the country received 200,999 Portuguese tourists, an increase of 23.1% over the same period in 2025. The partnership will continue throughout the year, including Brazil's participation in Expo Abreu, in October, and the anticipated marketing of experiences for the 2027 Rio Carnival.
