According to the CBS (Dutch Statistics Centre), around 74% of Dutch people aged 15 and over took at least one holiday trip during the summer of 2025, totalling 21.9 million holidays, of which 12.9 million were spent abroad and 9 million in the Netherlands. International destinations were mainly concentrated in Europe (11.5 million trips), with France, Germany and Spain remaining the most popular summer destinations. Outside Europe, the most visited destinations were Turkey, the United States and Indonesia. The car continued to be the main means of transport (13.4 million trips), followed by the plane (4.9 million) and the train (1.7 million).
