Last May, the balance of payments for tourism in Italy registered a surplus of €2.7 billion, a slight increase compared to the same month in 2025. Spending by foreign tourists in Italy (€5.4 billion) and Italian tourists abroad (€2.7 billion) grew compared to May 2025, registering increases of 4.3% and 2.2%, respectively, (...) Italians' spending abroad increased in EU countries (3.0%), but decreased in non-EU countries (-2.7%) ..."
