Bank of Italy: GDP projected to grow by 1% in 2026.

The Bank of Italy estimates that the country's GDP will grow by 0.9% this year, 0.7% next year and 0.8% in 2028. The central bank underlines in its economic bulletin that, "adjusting the number of working days, growth rates will be 1%, 0.7% and 0.6%, respectively". Compared to the projections published in June, the GDP growth forecast was revised upwards by 0.4 percentage points for 2026 and by 0.3 percentage points for 2027, while for 2028 there was a downward revision of 0.1. The upward revision for 2026 reflects, "mainly, a less severe impact of the crisis in the Middle East during the first two quarters of the current year than expected in June, as well as a positive trend in investments related to the digital and energy transition and — during the summer quarter — a robust performance of the tourism sector."
