An all-time record for Italian air transport. On Sunday, July 26, ENAV - the company that manages civil air traffic in Italy - recorded 8,446 flights, the highest number in the history of Italian aviation. This result exceeds by more than 100 flights the previous record, set on July 27, 2025, when 8,340 aircraft were accompanied during their pick-ups or landings at Italian airports.
According to ENAV, this is a seasonal peak of a summer that has consistently high traffic volumes. In fact, last year's numbers had already been exceeded three times this year — all during the month of July: on July 12 (8,350 flights), July 17 (8,392) and July 18 (8,430). ENAV's estimates suggest that while it will be difficult to surpass the 2026 record again, there will still be peak days with numbers higher than those of 2025..."
