Prices for air travel increased by an average of 8.5% in Germany during the first half of 2026, compared to the same period a year earlier, according to the German Federal Statistical Office. Package travel recorded more moderate increases, of 3% for international destinations and 2.8% for domestic destinations. The biggest increases were seen in flights to Central America and European destinations, while flights to Africa were cheaper. Among holiday destinations, Egypt, the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands recorded the largest increases in package tours, while Greece kept prices broadly stable.
