In 2025, short term accommodation with more than 10 beds totaled 4,155 units (+3.7%), 40,100 rooms (+1.6%), and 99,600 beds (+1.4%).
This sector welcomed 5.1 million guests (-1.0%), who generated 12.1 million overnight stays (-0.9%), 71.3% of which were by non-residents, reflecting the continued strong influence of international demand.
Seasonality remained close to the national average, with July, August, and September accounting for 36.2% of overnight stays (4.3 million), compared to 34.9% for tourist accommodations as a whole. Greater Lisbon, the North, and the Algarve accounted for more than two-thirds of total overnight stays.
Among the main international markets, Germany led with 1.1 million overnight stays, followed by Spain (899,000), the United Kingdom (850,000), France (811,000), and the United States (721,000), which together accounted for more than half of international demand. Regionally, Spain was the leading market in the North, Center, West, and Tagus Valley, the Azores, and the Alentejo; the United Kingdom in the Algarve; Germany in Madeira; and the United States in Greater Lisbon.
