In April 2026, tourist accommodation establishments recorded 2.9 million guests (+2.4%) and 7.2 million overnight stays (+0.6%). Among the main source markets, Canada (+12.0%), the Netherlands (+9.9%), and the U.S. (+6.5%) stood out with the highest year-over-year monthly growth in the number of overnight stays. By NUTS II region, Alentejo (+8.4%) and the North (+4.1%) saw the largest increases in this indicator.

From January through April 2026, Portugal received 8.7 million guests who generated 20.7 million overnight stays, primarily from the United Kingdom (share: 16.4%), Germany (12.4%), and the U.S. (8.8%).
