The tourist accommodation sector registered 1.8 million guests and 4.0 million overnight stays in December 2023, corresponding to increases of 10,9% and 8,2%, respectively. Compared to December of 2019, there was an increase of 13,7% and 14,7%, respectively.

Total revenue increased 13.9%, reaching 289.0 million euros, and revenue from accommodation reached 204.2 million euros, reflecting a growth of 15.0%. Compared with December 2019, there were increases of 40,8% and 45,0%, respectively.

In 2023, overnight stays reached 77 151.1 thousand and increased 10.7% (+2.1% in residents and +14.9% in non-residents). Compared to 2019, overnight stays increased 10.0%, as a consequence of the increase in overnight stays by non-residents (9.6%) and by residents (10.7%).

In the year 2023 total revenue reached 6.0 billion euros, a growth of 20.1%, while accommodation revenue, which amounted to 4.6 billion euros, evolved favourably 21.3% (+40,2% and + 43,0%, compared to the same period of 2019, respectively).

The tourism receipts registered 25,140.0 million euros in 2023, an increase of 18,9% compared to 2022.
