The results show that industrial tourism recorded more than 2.4 million visitors (2,437,438), reflecting growth compared to 2023 (+245 thousand visitors). Demand shows a strong territorial concentration, particularly in the Porto e Norte (35.7%), Açores (26.6%), and Centro de Portugal (12.5%).
The domestic market remains predominant, accounting for 57.4% of visits, although there has been a strengthening of international demand (42.6%, +12% compared to 2023), with a particular emphasis on France (20.5%) and Spain (18.6%), alongside markets such as Brazil and the United States.
By sector of activity, there is a clear predominance of the agri-food industry (47.6%), followed by transport, services and communications (26.2%), which together represent 73.8% of total visits.
The offer is mainly centred on guided or self-guided visits, complemented by exhibitions, workshops, themed events and educational programmes, contributing to more diverse visitor experiences. However, visit duration remains limited, with 68% lasting no longer than half a day, highlighting the potential to extend the visitor experience at the destination.
The distribution of demand throughout the year reveals a seasonal pattern, with higher volumes between April and September and a more pronounced decline during the winter months. At the same time, there is a growing focus on digital channels, with 73.8% of partners present on social media and 61.9% having their own websites, reinforcing the role of digital communication in promoting the offer.
The findings also highlight the contribution of industrial tourism to enhancing the authenticity and identity of territories, as well as increasing the visibility of participating entities, which stands out as the main benefit associated with joining the Network.
