16 October 2026

French premium travelers are rejuvenating, according to data from the platform Trip.com. In the second half of 2026, young people aged 18 to 34 represent 40.3% of travelers residing in France who booked a flight in first or business class and 41% of those who chose a 5-star hotel, against 28.5% and 32% on the platform's average.

This segment travels less often, but longer: the French in the premium segment expect 1.43 trips in the second half of the year, compared to 1.62 on average for the Trip.com, with an average duration of 22.7 days, 8.3 days more than the platform average (14.4 days). Long-haul accounts for 45.8% of its premium flight bookings, and the most popular connections from France are Paris-Tokyo, Paris-Bangkok, Paris-Kuala Lumpur, Paris-Seoul and Paris-Bali.

Premium demand grows strongly in France: in the first half of 2026, searches for first or business flights rose 110% in one year and those for 5-star hotels 97%, against 57% on the platform's average, and bookings for the «Platinum Luxury Hotels» selection made from France rose 176%, against 45% in total. Portugal is not among the connections mentioned, dominated by Asia, which makes luxury hotels and Portuguese experiences an offer to promote to this young clientele.
