According to a recent note from the Spanish Ministry of Industry and Tourism, the country expects to receive around 43 million international tourists between June and September, which represents a growth of 6% compared to the same period in 2025.
This summer, total tourist spending is forecast to grow by 10 percent, above the volume of visitors themselves. For the ministry, this indicator proves the effectiveness of the policies implemented in recent years, consolidated in the Spain 2030 Tourism Strategy, in force since the end of 2025.
Projections indicate that autonomous communities that traditionally receive fewer tourists, such as those in the north, will register a higher revenue growth rate than regions that are the main destinations.
This last data reinforces one of the major goals of the sector: the trend towards the deconcentration of destinations, better distributing the economic impact of tourism throughout the Spanish territory.
