Irish consumers are already starting to plan their 2027 holidays, with 92% of respondents planning to travel next year, according to the latest study by Click&Go Holidays. The survey, conducted in the third quarter of 2026 among 1,773 participants, also reveals a strong trend towards early booking, with 62% intending to book by the end of March 2027.
Sunshine holidays remain the preferred option for the Irish, accounting for 51% of travel intentions, followed by cruises (18%) and city breaks (17%). The study also shows that holidays remain a priority for consumers, with 80% of travellers habitually taking two or more trips per year.
The report also indicates that Irish people tend to return to destinations they already know, with 55% of travellers in 2026 repeating a previously visited destination. The main reasons are good weather, value for money and ease of access via convenient flights and airports.
Despite strong demand, price remains a determining factor in travel decisions. Higher holiday costs and the rising cost of living are among the main barriers to booking, although confidence in international travel remains high.
