Dutch people prefer not to save on holidays

04 June 2026

According to a Corendon study carried out with almost 1,000 Dutch people, holidays remain a priority, leading many consumers to save on other expenses: 50% reduce spending on festivals and concerts and 30% on meals away from home. About 70% see the vacation as something they really want to enjoy, 23% as a mental necessity or reward and 28% as a luxury product. Among the 80% who receive holiday allowance, almost three-quarters actually use it to travel.
