Dublin Airport nears new record year

12 October 2026

Dublin Airport recorded almost 29 million passengers in the first nine months of 2026, a growth of 4% compared to the same period in 2025, reinforcing the expectation of another record year for Ireland's main airport infrastructure.

In September, 3.34 million passengers passed through the airport, with 26 of the 30 days of the month exceeding the 100 thousand daily passengers mark. The performance was driven by the busiest summer period ever, which registered around 15 million passengers since the end of May.

One of the main drivers of growth was the 37% increase in transit passengers, consolidating Dublin's role as a hub for international connections. This development helps to strengthen the airport's attractiveness to airlines and support the development of new routes.

Transatlantic traffic remained particularly strong, with 493,000 passengers travelling between Dublin and North America in September, up 3% year-on-year. Demand was also supported by major events held in Ireland, including the Irish Presidency of the European Union and major international golf competitions.
