17 August 2026

Brazil was the fourth country where international tourism grew the most between 2019 and 2025, registering a 46% increase in the number of foreign visitors in the period, which covers the pre- and post-pandemic.

The data is contained in the report "OECD Tourism Trends and Policies", which brings together official indicators and analyses from dozens of member and partner countries of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

Between 2019 and 2025, the number of international tourists on national soil increased from 6.3 million to 9.3 million, strengthening Brazil's competitiveness in the global tourism market. In proportional terms, Brazil exceeded the growth rate of consolidated destinations, such as Japan (34%), Portugal (20%), Spain (16%) and France (12%), although these markets remain among the largest recipients of tourists in the world.
