The initiative linking Delta Cafés and Nãm makes use of the 99% of coffee biomass that is typically wasted, using the coffee grounds collected from Delta’s customers as a rich, clean substrate for the sustainable cultivation of mushrooms. At the end of the production cycle, the remaining compost is transformed into high-quality natural fertilizer, which is delivered to local farmers to complete the zero-waste cycle.
The partnership extends to the end consumer through home-growing kits, allowing anyone to turn their own coffee grounds into food quickly and easily.
