The Blue Flag is a symbol of quality awarded annually to beaches and marinas that apply and that meet a set of criteria. These criteria are good water quality, adequate to comply with environmental legislation, good services in relation to user safety and environmental awareness and education activities.
Therefore, a positive evolution of this indicator indicates an improvement of the above mentioned parameters in bathing areas.
